Unique Hoodia - Simply The Best Hoodia Product On The Market

The technical terminology for Hoodia The hoodia belongs to the plant family of Asclepiadaceous. It has around 20 species which mostly found in the southwestern regions of Africa. Some species of the Hoodia plant are: Hoodia bainii Hoodia currorii Hoodia delaetiana Hoodia dregei Hoodia flava Hoodia gordonii Hoodia husabensis Hoodia juttae Hoodia lugardii Hoodia macranta Hoodia officinale Hoodia parviflora Hoodia pedicellata Hoodia pilifera Hoodia pretnar Hoodia rosea Hoodia ruschii Hoodia triebneri
These are all scientific names for the various species of Hoodia. However, the essential molecule that is responsible for suppressing appetite is only present in the Hoodia gordonii, which is found only in the Kalahari Desert of South Africa. This plant is quite similar to cactus and is covered with spines and grows vertically. They are commonly found growing in clusters. Hoodia gordonii plant can reach a height of six feet and is alternatively called Xhopa or Ghaap. When the plant matures, it begins sprouting pale purple flowers. This indicates that the plant is ready for harvest. Unfortunately however, the Hoodia plant matures only once every five years.
Hoodia can be found in various different forms: pills, powder, liquid and even chocolate chew. South Africas San tribes have been using the Hoodia Gordonii for centuries. They eat the heart of the plant before embarking on their hunting trips. It reduces their hunger and thirst and gives them the necessary energy to sustain themselves. This allows them to complete long journeys through the desert without carrying large quantities of food supplies. The Hoodia contains a molecule that is believed to be almost 10,000 times more powerful than glucose obtained from carbohydrates in our normal diet. This molecule is named p57 and it transmits signal to the brain that ample quantity of food has been taken and the stomach is full. The brain therefore stops thinking about food and the person does not feel hungry. Pure Hoodia is therefore a powerful, natural suppressant of appetite without any harmful chemicals and does not cause any side effects.
The Hoodia gordonii is highly nutritious. It enabled the South African Bushmen to maintain their energy levels without feeding themselves regularly. They were thus able to conserve their food resources for much longer periods and hence survive in the harsh Kalahari Desert. Typically 35g of Hoodia can be recovered from a whole plant weighing 250g. A dosage of 400-800mg of Hoodia per day is recommended.
The medical world is still trying to confirm the appetite suppressant properties of Hoodia. No short terms side effects have been observed so far, but nothing can be said regarding long term side effects as there has been no research about this regard. The effect of using other drugs and treatment simultaneously with Hoodia gordonii are also yet to be studies. Therefore people suffering from a chronic disease and are receiving the necessary treatment are advised to stay away from Hoodia. Like all other dietary supplements, Hoodia gordonii too requires an apposite diet and fitness program to be effective. It is best to consult your doctor and seek professional help, before taking any Hoodia gordonii supplements.
